BOOKING TERMS

Please read through all our Terms and Conditions as they will explain in detail everything you need to know when booking with Margot + Lace.

Introduction:

We have an ever-growing carefully curated team of experienced and professionally trained hair and makeup stylists that cover the Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, and surrounding Cotswolds areas, so rest assured we will do all we can to accommodate you and your bridal party, subject to availability.

However, please be aware that peak months can be booked 12-24 months in advance so in circumstances where we will not be able to help, we will forward on some other incredible recommendations.

Securing a booking:

If you wish to book in, please confirm via reply email advising how many people would like hair and/or makeup. We will then send a bespoke booking form (invoice) for you, which will provide details on how to secure the wedding date with a deposit.

To make the process fair we act on a first come, first served basis. This means that we cannot and will not hold your wedding date, until we receive your deposit. Paying the deposit is acceptance of the T&Cs.

The deposit value will depend on the services booked. For hair OR makeup, a £100 deposit will be required. If booking both hair AND makeup, a £200 deposit is required.

Deposits are non-refundable.

Once a booking is secure, we will firm up your date with your allocated stylist(s), who will be in touch to introduce themselves.

Trials:

The ideal time to have your trial is 3-6 months ahead of the wedding. But we know with logistics, work commitments and various other factors that these timescales may not be suitable for you. Therefore, please make us aware at the initial booking stage if a trial appointment may be tricky for you, as the more time we have to organise, the more flexible we can be to try and accommodate your requirements.

We only recommend a trial for the bride, but your bridal party are able to book a trial if they wish. Bridal party trials are payable in advance.

Wherever possible, we do our best to accommodate combined hair and makeup trials on the same day at our studio in Calmsden, however, due to the team's work commitments and logistics, its not always possible to book trial appointments for the same day in the same location. Some of our team have home studios and have different working patterns. So again, please always make your preferences known up front if a non-combined trial, outside of our studio location, would be tricky for you.

Please be aware that over the busier periods, stylists may take a little longer to respond and may have limited booking availability.

We will need to know at the time of booking your trial appointment how many people require a trial, as unfortunately these cannot be added on the day.

Please allow 1.5 hours per service for your trial so we have enough time to try as many styles as you like. We want our brides to be completely happy and satisfied with how they look and feel and our stylists always welcome feedback at the time of the trial appointment, so that any concerns can be addressed and adjusted there and then.

Although trials are set to 1.5 hours we appreciate you may want to go over this time allocation to ensure all your styles have been considered, in this instance any time over the 1.5 hour allocation, will be charged at £25 per hour and added to your booking form.

Trial Fees and Securement Payments:

The initial deposit is required solely to secure your wedding date in our diary. Following your trial, one of two payments will be due within 3 days:

  1. If you wish to proceed: A securement payment of 50% of your total remaining invoice is required. This payment acts as a part-payment towards your final wedding day balance and covers the costs of the trial service held.

  2. If you choose not to proceed: A standalone £85 trial fee (per service) is required to cover the stylist’s time and professional products used.

Payments:

All payments are made via BACS, details of which are given upon booking. Please note that we are unable to take any cash payments, and do not have card reading facilities, so cannot take Amex cards or equivalent.

Your final balance will be due 30 days prior to your wedding day.

Additional Costs:

Travel and Parking - Our team are based all over the Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, and surrounding Cotswolds areas so the bespoke travel/mileage cost will be added to your booking form. Mileage is calculated at 0.60p per mile (0.65p for 2027) based on a return journey, from your allocated stylists home postcode. Wherever possible, we try to absorb as much of any travel costs as possible to avoid passing these costs onto our brides, so the larger the booking, the less we will need to charge in travel fees. Please bear in mind that if altering numbers for hair and/or makeup, after the initial booking form/invoice has been sent, the travel fee may increase as a result of the reduction to the booking size.

Relocation - Unless otherwise stated, we will assume hair and/or makeup will take place in a single location with no requirement to move. If there needs to be a change of location (on or off

site), this will incur a relocation fee of £25 per stylist for packing up the kit and un-packing at a different location (30mins minimum needed excluding any travel time). Normal travel charges will also apply if the relocation is not on site and is over 10mins away.

Assistant Fee - For larger bridal parties it can be helpful for us and you, to bring an assistant stylist, this will always be an established member of our team. The arrangement fee for an assistant stylist is £80 per stylist (£90 for 2027). Please note that if an assistant is booked for your wedding, but circumstances change where your numbers for hair and/or makeup are reduced to the point of no longer needing an assistant, the arrangement fee is still payable, as this is owed to the stylist as a deposit for holding your wedding date in their diary until the point of cancellation with them. Booking an assistant is subject to the availability of our team, and therefore we always highly recommend finalising numbers as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Your wedding day:

All of our stylists usually allow one hour per person for makeup. This really is to err on the side of caution and factor in time for you to eat and drink, have photos taken and to greet guests and suppliers. We shall be sure to clarify timings at our consultation and this will also be confirmed 30 days prior to your wedding day in the form of a ‘Wedding Morning Schedule’. Your stylist will always arrive in plenty of time to set up and make a punctual start. We aim to have you completely styled, so that you can get in your dress and still have around 60 minutes to relax and take in those magical moments before leaving to get married. At this point we won’t dash off (unless, of course this is what you request) our stylists will be sure to stay around and help with any last-minute alterations or dressing requirements. We really do love helping in any way, so that the bride can remain calm and still look flawless.

Cancellations and Late Payments:

If cancelling our services anytime between the initial booking date and 3 months prior to your wedding date - No further charges will be owed. (Deposits and trial fees are non-refundable).

If cancelling our services within 3 months of your wedding date - 50% of the quoted balance will be required and any deposits paid will be retained.

If cancelling any service within 1 month of your wedding date - 100% of the quoted balance will be required if not already paid.

There will be an additional £25.00 admin surcharge for any changes made to your booking, within 1 month of your wedding date. Any changes need to be made no later than 1 month before your wedding date, to best ensure our stylists can accommodate those changes. Any changes made within 2 weeks before your wedding date, may not be accepted and any deposits made will be retained.

All payments must be made by BACS via the details given upon invoicing. Under no circumstances, will we accept cash payments on the day of your trial and / or wedding day. If your invoice is not paid in full at least 7 days before your wedding date – unless otherwise specified in the booking agreement – our stylists reserve the rights to not attend your booking, and any deposits made will be retained. If it becomes apparent that clients have symptoms of any contagious viruses which include but are not limited to covid 19, conjunctivitis, herpes,

head lice, we reserve the right to refuse the booking/appointment without penalty to ourselves to avoid the serious risk of cross-infection and contamination.

Any securement payments that are made after the 7-day invoicing period (this does not include the initial deposit amount) will be charged a ‘Late Payment Fee’ of £10. By booking and paying for your bridal consultation you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.
